Dr. Downy Nguyen (Win)
Optometrist
Dr. Nguyen has been a part of Heights Vision since 2008. Additionally, she has provided eye care to New York City school children with Helen Keller International and to the elderly and home bound patients with Wheels of Vision. She also took time off to do non-profit work by providing eye exams to women and children rescued from exploitation in Thailand.
She provides comprehensive eye exams including medical eye care for adults and children, as well as contact lens fittings.
Dr. Nguyen obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Psychology at University of Texas at Austin and attended University of Houston College of Optometry where she obtained a Doctorate of Optometry degree in 2005. She did clinical rotations at Brooke Army Medical Center and Spokane VA Hospital before moving to New York.
She currently resides in Brooklyn with her husband and 2 kids.
Dr. Komal Patel
Optometrist
Dr. Patel has been an optometrist at Heights Vision Center since 2009. During her optometry career, she has provided eye care to underserved populations in Honduras and Peru and also volunteered with Special Olympics to provide eye exams to athletes.
She currently provides comprehensive eye exams including medical eye care for adults and children as well as contact lens fittings.
Dr. Patel graduated with a degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from Rutgers University in 2005. She went on to attend SUNY College of Optometry in Manhattan. She graduated in 2009 with a Doctorate of Optometry degree. She did clinical rotations at the Tuscan VA Hospital and the Affiliated Eye Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University in China.
She currently resides in Brooklyn.
Dr. Stuart Friedman
Optometrist
Dr. Friedman has retired from Heights Vision and we are grateful for this practice that he started in 1987. Heights Vision is still privately owned but with a different family through Dr. Nguyen – whom has worked with Heights Vision for 14+ years. We'd like to thank Dr. Friedman for his service and we will continue onwards to maintaining the family appeal of the practice.
